This five gallon food grade bucket is ideal for short or long term food storage. The food grade buckets and lids are sold separately. Heavy duty number two plastic is used to manufacture this bucket. The sides are sturdy for stacking strength. For long term 20+ year food storage, however, buckets should not be stacked on top of each other. Recommended long term storage of buckets is on a wooden rack off the floor.
Use a gamma lid for frequent air-tight bucket access. Use a tear strip lid for long term storage; once installed a tear strip lid is hard to remove. Use a snap on lid for easier access than a tear strip lid. A rubber mallet is the best tool for secure lid installation. The gamma and tear strip lids feature an airtight rubber gasket. Airtight storage is also suitable liquid storage.
For storing food longer than a year, try mylar storage bags and oxygen packets.
The bucket is shown at left by itself and with 3 optional lids.
The first lid shown is the Snap On Lid, the second the Tear Strip Lid and the third the Gamma Seal lid.
