Find simple old-time remedies that make life easier, hard to find brands you remember and practical products of quality for self-sufficient living you'll want to pass on. We take pride in carrying many truly local products. Many of them are world-changing-impressive-good (yes, we made that phrase up) and may be listed below.

We're farming our land in the mountains and networking with regional small farmers who want a reliable retail outlet to provide customers truly-sustainable pork, chicken, milk, eggs and beef from a regional foodshed, for a price you can regularly afford at a convenient and accessible location.

If you were looking for a business that embodies values The American Dream was built on –meaningful hard work, common sense, community belonging, and care for others – you've found it with Red Hill General Store.

We're a small regional business you can depend on for quality goods, local products and the kind of knowledge and care we once demanded from our product suppliers in this country. History's authentic general stores once built dynamic local relationships and economic vitality. These time-tested businesses from the best of early America are our guide. Lessons from experience allow us to constantly adapt and improve our products, service and community role. Read more of our Philosophy and Corporate Social Responsibility here.

A decision to purchase from Red Hill General Store makes a measurable difference for good.

  OUR URBAN GARDEN

Forget unimpressive, unnoticeable bushes of accepted landscaping. Our store-side recycled-wood garden was built in May 2011 to grow, eat and share real food. It's a common-sense way to use the outside spaces around our store. Herbs and garden veggies can be bought from the vine and are used to in our meals; this connection to our food is a key to living well. This is local, sustainable food grown right outside out door. See more photos from a Facebook album here. Read a story from the North Raleigh News here.
