The grounding of an electric fence is the most important step. Ninety - nine percent of the electric fence technical support problems that we answer are caused by a poorly grounded fence. A ground rod can be made of any steel rod driven into the ground 2 - 6 feet deep. In some situations you may have to place more than one ground rod in the ground to achieve a properly grounded fence.
