Electric Fence Wire
The wire in a permanent electric fence must be strong enough to take the mechanical strain of fence construction, and also be strong enough to withstand the pressure applied by the animals you are trying to contain.
If you are building a fence for small or domestic animals , a lighter gauge wire such as 19 gauge is usually sufficient. When constructing a fence for larger animals or predators 17 gauge wire works well.
